CFD simulation service for hardware teams
Sim Rhino provides CFD simulation service for hardware teams, modeling fluid flow and heat transfer to support design decisions before prototyping. You receive the native simulation files and a written report — the model stays yours, ready to re-run as the design changes.

What CFD simulation covers
CFD simulation models how liquids and gases move and how heat transfers through a product or system. Sim Rhino focuses on fluid-mechanics (CFD) and thermodynamics (thermal) analysis for hardware products: internal flow, external flow, and conjugate heat transfer, where fluid and solid are solved together.
Simulations run on industry-standard CFD platforms — the commercial and open-source solvers in standard use across the industry — on server compute, not a single fixed stack.
How the service works
1 Inputs
Your CAD, operating conditions, and the design question the simulation has to answer.
2 Setup
Geometry preparation, meshing, and boundary conditions documented before solving.
3 Solve
Run on server compute, with the solver matched to the physics of the problem.
4 Validation
Mesh-independence check and convergence criteria checked before results are reported.
5 Delivery
The native simulation files plus the written report — the model stays yours.
The native simulation files
The original working files — geometry, mesh, case, and data — so the model stays yours and can be re-run or modified as the design changes. Your engineers are never locked out of their own simulation.
A written report
Assumptions and boundary conditions, mesh and convergence documentation, results as tables and annotated images, and design recommendations — everything a design decision needs to stand on.
Validation
Every result is checked before it is reported: a mesh-independence check confirms the answer does not change with a finer mesh, and convergence criteria are documented in the report. Where test data is available, results are compared against it.

Frequently Asked Questions
- How much does a CFD simulation service cost for a hardware prototype?
- Pricing is quote-based: the scope, deliverables, and timeline are fixed in a written quote before work begins. Cost depends on geometry complexity, the physics involved, and the number of design variants to evaluate. Send CAD and operating conditions to start — quotes are returned in under 5 days.
- What do I need to provide to start a CFD simulation?
- Three things: your CAD files, the operating conditions (flow rates, heat loads, ambient conditions, fan or pump curves where relevant), and the decision the simulation has to support — for example, whether a vent layout keeps a board under its temperature limit. From those, the scope and quote are fixed before solving starts.
- How is a CFD result validated before I use it for a design decision?
- Two checks run before any result is reported. A mesh-independence check confirms the answer stays stable on a finer mesh, and convergence criteria are documented in the report. Where test data exists, simulated values are compared against it. Because you also receive the native files, your own engineers can inspect or re-run the model.
- What is the difference between CFD simulation and thermal analysis?
- CFD simulation models fluid flow. Thermal analysis models heat transfer by conduction, convection, and radiation. Many hardware problems need both: airflow determines how heat leaves the enclosure. Sim Rhino covers CFD and thermal analysis together, including conjugate heat transfer where fluid and solid are solved in one model.
